Bio

Carl Charles was a Skadden Fellow at the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û LGBT & HIV Project from 2014 to 2016. He graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law where he served as a Vice President of the Student Bar Association, Co-President of the DU Outlaws, and as a student attorney in the Criminal Defense Clinic. Carl has experience in LGBT advocacy with a focus on transgender youth and adults impacted by the criminal justice system. During law school he interned with New York Civil Liberties Union, the Meyer Law Firm, the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force, the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Middle District of Alabama, and the GLBT Center of Colorado. Carl's fellowship at the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û focused on developing the law for transgender and gender-expansive youth who are homeless, in out-of-home care, and in the juvenile justice system.
