ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û Washington Legislative Office

Bio

Michael W. Macleod-Ball is currently a First Amendment advisor to the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û. He is the former chief of staff of the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û Washington Legislative Office, where he helped lead the organization’s federal advocacy efforts around issues including national security, criminal justice, and privacy, voting, LGBT, and First Amendment rights.

Prior to joining the WLO in 2007, he served as executive director of the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û’s Alaska affiliate. Macleod-Ball practiced law in Maine for over 15 years and was a prominent political activist in Maine, Massachusetts and Connecticut for over 20 years. He served in campaign and administration roles for Gov. Michael Dukakis (D-Mass.), on the staff of Congressman William Ratchford (D-Conn.), and on the Senate campaign staff of Toby Moffett (D-Conn.). He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont and graduated with honors from Suffolk University Law School.
