Service Women's Action Network v. U.S. Department of Defense
The ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û, the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û of Connecticut and the Service Women’s Action Network (SWAN), have sued the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for violating the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The DoD failed to release records showing how the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), and the U.S. Military Academy (USMA) at West Point have maintained policies and practices that have resulted in student populations in which women are significantly under-represented and campus environments where misogyny and harassment prevail. The Veterans Legal Services Clinic at Yale Law School, the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û Foundation Women’s Rights Project, and the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û of Connecticut represent the plaintiffs.
