Lawsuits Related to Trump's Muslim Ban

The ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û is fighting President Trump’s Muslim ban executive order on several fronts.

Through litigation:

Darweesh v. Trump

The ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û and partner organizations brought the first challenge to the Trump’s Muslim ban executive order. The lead plaintiffs were detained by the U.S. government and threatened with deportation even though they had valid visas to enter the United States. More details here.

IRAP v. Trump

We filed another federal lawsuit challenging the executive order, charging it violates the Constitution — including the First Amendment’s prohibition of government establishment of religion and the Fifth Amendment’s guarantees of equal treatment under the law — and federal laws. More details here.

State of Washington/State of Minnesota v. Trump

Through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests:

Fifty ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û affiliates filed 18 coordinated FOIA requests with local U.S. Customs and Border Protection offices to expose how Trump administration officials are interpreting and executing the president’s Muslim ban at over 55 international airports across the country, acting in violation of federal courts that ordered a stay on the ban’s implementation.
