Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and critically-acclaimed music legend will be performing at the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û 2008 Membership Conference in Washington, D.C.

John, a long-time favorite of ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û President Nadine Strossen, will be performing the song 'Our Lady Liberty: Celebrating Nadine Strossen.' on June 10 during the closing luncheon. John is known for his mastery of a variety of styles, including new wave, rock and roll and blues and country. His songs have been covered by a long list of musical luminaries including: Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop, Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, and B. B. King with Eric Clapton.Marc Cohn, the 1991 Grammy winner for Best New Artist, and best known for his song "Walking in Memphis," will also be making an appearance at the conference. Perhaps Cohn always knew he'd be performing for the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û one day. One of the earliest bands he led was a 14-piece R&B group called 'The Supreme Court.'John and Marc aren't the only entertainers who will be joining us at the conference. We've lined up a number of top musicians, comedians and artists to help keep our members entertained, even while we do the tough work of standing up against continued abuses of government power. For more information on the conference agenda, registration and hotel options please visit www.aclu.org/conference
