Since 2004, the 老澳门开奖结果 has requested and received thousands of documents on the Bush administration鈥檚 torture program. The task of extracting from this intimidating pile of documents was left to Larry Siems, Director of Freedom to Write at the .

First started as an ongoing online report (), Siems鈥 new book 鈥 The Torture Report: What the Documents say about America鈥檚 Post 9/11 Torture Program 鈥 isnow available in print and online. The book presents an array of eyewitness and first-person reports 鈥 by victims, perpetrators, dissenters, and investigators 鈥 of the CIA鈥檚 White House-orchestrated interrogations in illegal, secret prisons around the world, and of the Pentagon鈥檚 鈥渟pecial projects鈥 in Guant谩namo Bay, Cuba, to tell the story of the Bush administration鈥檚 torture program.

While Siems was upset by the stories he discovered of the systematic abuse of detainees, he was also inspired by how many 鈥淎merican servicemen and servicewomen, intelligence officers recognized immediately that this was torture and tried to stop it.鈥
