Yesterday, the New York Times wrote about the Kevin Keith case, commenting on the unlikely allies who have come together to fight Keith's pending execution.
In the Times notes that former Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro and former Ohio Supreme Court justice Herbert R. Brown, "joined by 31 former judges and prosecutors from around the country; the Innocence Network and its 61 affiliates, including the Ohio Innocence Project; and 100 religious leaders and organizations" have come together to call for a pardon.
We blogged about this case last month, when the petition asking Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland to grant a pardon had less than 5,000 signatures. Today, thanks to activists like you, the petition has more than 9,000 signatures!
(And a special big thanks to , who during his Netroots Nation panel on using social networks for advocacy. After he tweeted the petition, the signature goal went from 5,000 to 10,000!)
But our work isn't done. We still need another hundred or so signatures to reach the goal of 10,000 signatures. So if you haven't already, and tell your friends! Gov. Strickland needs to hear from you!
