鈥淭hese proposed changes are no fix. After rushing to enact H.B. 2 in a span of hours, this is the second attempt鈥攖he first was the governor鈥檚 executive order鈥攖o clean up the extreme and discriminatory mess of H.B. 2. The only real solution is the full repeal of the law.

鈥淓ven with these changes, H.B. 2 still encourages discrimination against thousands of LGBT people who call North Carolina home, and it particularly targets transgender people.

鈥淎s we speak, Governor McCrory, legislative leadership and UNC are continuing to defend a law that specifically targets transgender people who want to be able to use public facilities safely and securely like everyone else.

鈥淲e are fighting in court for the entire LGBT community in North Carolina because sanctioned discrimination is unacceptable. LGBT North Carolinians and millions around the country are anxious to see an end to these dangerous displays of intolerance.

鈥淲e must repeal H.B. 2 and replace it with full non-discrimination protections for all LGBT people.鈥�

The lawsuit, Carca帽o v. McCrory, was filed days after the law was passed by the North Carolina General Assembly and signed by Governor Pat McCrory.
