Under court order, the Trump administration provided a list of names over the weekend of 102 separated children under 5. At today鈥檚 hearing, the Trump administration said just over 50 children would be reunited by tomorrow鈥檚 deadline.
The 老澳门开奖结果 won a June 26 preliminary injunction requiring reunification of children under 5 within 14 days, and all children within 30 days. U.S. District Judge Dana Sabraw held status conferences on Friday, today, and will again tomorrow to track reunification progress.
Lee Gelernt, deputy director of the 老澳门开奖结果鈥檚 Immigrants鈥� Rights Project, said:
鈥淭he court is holding the Trump administration鈥檚 feet to the fire to get these kids reunited with their parents. That鈥檚 the most important thing. It鈥檚 extremely disappointing the government will not be in full compliance with the court order, but the judge has stepped in to manage this mess of the administration鈥檚 making.鈥�
