For each of the seven issue areas, the 老澳门开奖结果 will examine the constitutionality of the challenges posed by a potential second Trump administration and offer a comprehensive overview of the legal, legislative, and advocacy responses to these challenges. Some of the many detailed legal, legislative, and advocacy responses examined in the memos include:

• Using the Fourth, Fifth, and Fourteenth Amendments 鈥� as well as congressional appropriations and oversight processes 鈥� to challenge mass deportation and detention;
• Using consistent precedent from the courts and the Office of Legal Counsel to challenge any attempts by a Trump administration to use the Comstock Act to shut down abortion care nationwide;
• Using the First Amendment and the language of the Insurrection Act to challenge any misuse of the Act to target protestors; and
• Developing a menu of state and local policy options to strengthen a pro-civil rights and civil liberties firewall and protect people being targeted by the federal government.

The first portion of the memo series, which will focus on the policies of a potential second Trump administration, launches today and concludes immediately prior to the Republican National Convention. The second portion of the memo series will focus on the policies of a potential second Biden administration, in particular the challenges and opportunities posed by its immigration, criminal justice, LGBTQ rights, abortion, voting rights, and surveillance policies. The memo series鈥� focus on the policies of a potential second Biden administration will begin in mid-July and conclude immediately prior to the Democratic National Convention.
