Commonwealth of Pennsylvania v. Eric Rogers
On June 9, 2020, the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û Women's Rights Project and ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û of Pennsylvania, along with 25 additional nonprofit organizations, joined an amicus brief led by the Women's Law Project and AEquitas in support of exclusion of a complainant’s criminal record for prostitution-related offenses as evidence in a sexual assault case. The amicus brief argues that a complainant’s sexual history with others is irrelevant to proving consent and that permitting evidence of a complainant’s prior prostitution arrests and convictions would reinforce gender and racial biases.

On May 14, 2020, the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û Women’s Rights Project and Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP filed a lawsuit in the District Court of Maryland on behalf of plaintiffs Know Your IX, the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates, Girls for Gender Equity, and Stop Sexual Assault in Schools, challenging several provisions of the U.S. Department of Education’s newly issued Title IX rule under the Administrative Procedure Act.

On April 25, 2020, the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û, the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û of West Virginia, and the law firm of WilmerHale filed an emergency lawsuit on behalf of the Women’s Health Center of West Virginia and its patients to prevent the state of West Virginia from restricting abortion access during the coronavirus pandemic.
