Sorry, Stephen Colbert: Gene Patents Are Unlawful

Last night, , which control patents on the BRCA1 and BRCA2 human genes, which are associated with breast and ovarian cancer. Last month, a federal district court judge ruled that these patents are invalid.

Colbert sent us a message: "Just a quick side-note to the ÀÏ°ÄÃÅ¿ª½±½á¹û: you might not want to make enemies of the people who own cancer." He then showed a clip of the 60 Minutes segment about our case, and asked: "why cure cancer if you can't make a buck off of it?"

We're all for capitalism, Stephen, but not when it sacrifices women's health and scientific freedom.
