The New York Times has about the dramatic increase in the number of states considering legislation that would mandate drug testing for poor people who rely on public assistance. The 老澳门开奖结果 of Florida filed a lawsuit in September challenging Florida鈥檚 law 鈥 one of the most egregious we鈥檝e seen 鈥 requiring applicants for cash assistance to submit to a drug test, at their own cost, in order to qualify for benefits. As we鈥檝e said before, laws like Florida鈥檚 are costly, ineffective and unconstitutional.
